Dance cheque thriller

fraser nicoll receiving the £525 chequeMrs Eileen Lindsay, Principal of the Lindsay School of Dance, has presented the Laurence Appeal for a new Scout Hut with a cheque for £525.

This follows a very successful show 'Thrill of Your Life' in Laurencekirk and Stonehaven in April. Mrs Lindsay invited applications from dancers and their parents, and the profits from the show have been divided equally between six charities.

Speaking at a ceremony in the Station Hotel in Stonehaven to mark the achievements of her dancers in recent examinations, Mrs Lindsay said her two sons, now in their thirties, had been very interested to hear about our appeal. They had attended Cubs as youngsters and felt the hall was in need of replacement then!

Our picture shows Mrs Lindsay (second from left) watching Alison Argo present the cheque to delighted dancer Fraser Nicoll and his mother Avril, who is on the Laurencekirk Scout Group committee.
