Karen to hang up her woggle

Beaver Section Leader Karen Kelly is leaving after 14 years, and Laurencekirk Scout Group is inviting donations for the Scottish Huntington's Association to mark her dedicated service.

The boys who were members when Karen started are now young men in their early twenties. Karen says, "I have enjoyed 14 years of working with the boys and feel that it is now time to hang up my woggle and move on to new challenges."

The Scottish Huntington's Association means a great deal to Karen who is active in raising funds for the charity. Huntington's runs in families and is an incurable disease of the brain. The charity provides vital services to those affected and their families, including children and young people.

Donations marked 'Karen Kelly SHA' can be handed in to 33 Kinnear Square, Laurencekirk, along with a personal message if you wish. Please include your name and address if you would like a receipt.

Karen's last night is at the Scout Group's sponsored Denlethen Challenge on Thursday 1st July from 7-9pm. Our new Beaver Leader will be Peter Buxton. Irene Stove will continue to assist.
