Laurencekirk Scout Group is delighted to be receiving very generous support from two local businesses at its sponsored Denlethen Challenge this Thursday.
Scotmid has kindly given us £100 of vouchers for our sausage sizzle, so our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts can look forward to sausages, burgers and even toasted marshmallows on their return from the map reading challenge.
As an added bonus, Marie Thomson of the 'What's for tea tonight?' farm shop is donating and serving Mackie's ice cream to the troops!
As well as making the evening a fun, social event, this support means that every single penny the boys raise in sponsorship will go into our designated fund for refurbishment of the hall.
The group is also grateful to Jacquie Donoghue of Mearns Fitness for planning and leading the challenge, to Bruce Cowie and Tracy Walker for doing the catering on the night, and to the local doctors and NHS Grampian for allowing us the use of their car park in Blackiemuir Avenue as a base. The event runs from 7-9pm - whatever the weather!
