Coffee morning raises £950

The Laurencekirk community was out in force on Saturday morning at the Scout Group's coffee morning, raising an amazing £950.

Commenting on this success, chairperson Avril Nicoll said, "We couldn't believe the turnout - we are very fortunate to have such strong support. It was a great opportunity for Cubs and Scouts to get involved in serving cakes and manning the stalls."

She continued, "We are particularly indebted to three stalwarts of the community, Lily Barnett, Cathy McLean and Bel Wisener. They not only manned the kitchen and gave us valuable advice, but baked for the cake & candy staff and donated raffle prizes. We simply could not have managed without them, and I hope they realise how much we appreciate their help."
